2017 NBA Finals Series Recap: Golden State in 5 - I Told You So!

2017 NBA Finals Series Recap: Golden State in 5 - I Told You So!

The Golden State Warriors are the 2017 NBA Champions. I’ve said that out loud maybe 100 times since the clock showed 0:00 in the 4th quarter of Game 5. This feeling is all too familiar but not taken for granted. I just knew last year I would be celebrating a Championship and look what happened. Now that my favorite basketball team is back on top, it’s going to be a long summer for a lot of you.

I told you so. From the moment we signed KD I told you all we were going to win the championship. Are there enough balls on the basketball court now? It’s crazy how everyone’s efficiency went up this season. These are the kind of things that happen when you play for a real team. Sit back and realize that you all don’t know shit. You hear a few media analyst spew some bullshit rhetoric and then you bring the nonsense to my social media experience. You heard Steph chokes in the Finals without having any real evidence to back it up. The numbers always showed different but you were going to get those “jokes” off. Steph averaged 27/9/8 in this year’s NBA Finals. Warriors’ fans told you what it was but for the sake of a few RT’s and ignorant agreement you decided to go against our better judgment. I would honestly be ashamed if I was wrong as much as some of you are. The “Cavs in 6” support group has stopped replying to texts, started discussing football on social media and some have fallen off the face of the planet all together. Shout out to the pathetic individuals still talking about not respecting KD’s ring. No one cares. You are nobody. Your opinion means nothing. Kevin Durant is a 2017 NBA Finals MVP and Champion.  You look like a loser still complaining about his move to Golden State. He’s clearly made the right decision. I make no apologies for the Warriors making you come to the realization that your favorite basketball has no chance for the next 4 years at the least.

Life just feels different when your favorite team is the NBA Champions. It feels like there is a little more oxygen in the air that only Warriors fans get the benefit from. My breakfast sandwich this morning tasted that much better. Everyone in the Bay Area is all smiles. I’ve been making parade plans since before the playoffs began but now it’s turned into an actual thing. I will be every bit of intoxicated on Thursday morning while you all do whatever it is that people do when their team didn’t win a championship. My summer is already better than yours and it has barely even begun. The weather is perfect and I don’t live in Cleveland. What more could you possibly ask for? 16-0 would have been great to talk about. At the end of the day, though, all that matters is that we won the championship. We embraced being NBA villains with open arms. We leveled up the arrogance that we already had and it’s going to continue.

I said I wouldn’t slander Bron, the player, all summer and I’m going to stand by that. The other players on the team are getting these jokes for eternity. JR Smith won the battle against Shumpert on which of the two of them will be seeing an exit from Cleveland. Kyrie proved to us what Warriors fans have told you all along. Kyrie doesn’t make anyone better. He can have the best rim finishing in the world and that isn’t going to change that. He can have all the 15 seconds of dancing your opponent to sleep that he wants. Fact is a healthy Kyrie turned the ball over many times in pivotal moments throughout the Finals. All of you let a Game 7 three from last year cloud your judgment. Say what you want, but a player with 40 points and only 4 assists as a PG just isn’t very appealing to me. You all tried to get me to believe that a team that had Tristan Thompson in the starting lineup was going to be able to contend against the Warriors. You all pretended that Kyle Korver was going to come and help the Cavs shoot their way into a victory. The Cavs signed Deron Williams. Patrick McCaw played more meaningful minutes than he did. Aside from Game 4 Kevin Love was a complete no show. I’m so glad we made the decision to keep Klay instead of going after him. Not even sure why that was a thing to be honest.

The Warriors are the best team ever in any era and I couldn’t care any less about whatever hypothetical game you all have them in. It’s all a matter of opinion at the end of the day anyway, right? The only difference is that my opinion happens to also be a fact while yours simply remains an opinion. You wish your favorite team could make the moves my favorite NBA team has. The crazy thing is that I think the Warriors are just getting started. If they were this dominant in their first year together as a “Super Team”, imagine how it will be in the following years. We are the best, end of story. In 10 years no one is going to ask about the Showtime Lakers, the ’96 Bulls or any other team of the past. The team every other team will get compared to for years to come is this eras Golden State Warriors.
