Bring Back N64

Bring Back N64

Quick overview of a throwback system; the N64 is one of the greatest video games consoles ever. Released in 1996, and I still remember the time I got mine. It was sort of a Christmas and birthday gift; I remember being speechless while opening the box, I couldn't believe it! It was the last console to take cartridges but it was fire.

The Nintendo 64 had tons of crazy games out, I still remember playing Mario Party, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Goldeneye and last but not least, Mario Kart. This console was everything at the time, the Sega Saturn wasn't really all that in 95, and the Sony Playstation came out of nowhere. The N64 was basically ahead of its time, a few accessories like the rumble pak and the expansion pak were game changers, you needed both for the full experience but if you didn't have one or the other, you still had a great console at the time.

Nintendo has recently released their newest console "The Switch," and previously the Nintendo Classic mini NES, which was just discontinued. The new rumor is...the next classic console to be released is the Super NES. Now if Nintendo can keep releasing vintage systems, then I damn sure wouldn't mind a new and improved Nintendo 64. I highly doubt it, but can you picture the new N64 with online capabilities and remastered games? There would be endless Goldeneye and Mario Kart matches. Sadly, I just don't think it's going to happen now that the Switch is out, and considering the fact the Wii or WiiU had the potential to bring something similar to the table but but dropped the ball.

I miss playing games like Turok, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, NBA Hang Time, Mario Kart and others. Who knows when Nintendo will actually decide to do this but we'll probably have to wait another 2-3 years to see something special, the Switch is doing really well right now, and we'll see what the future holds for this current console and overall for Nintendo as a company as they progress with new ideas.
