The Thursday HIT (Honored In Time): Luchini (This Is It) - Camp Lo

When you talk about classic music, not just hip-hop, you talk about it being timeless. This song captures the sound of the 80's, with the sample from Adventures In The Land Of Music, while having that 90’s Uptown New York talk.

I remember my big brother being obsessed with the movie Cooley High, ironically the name of Camp Lo's first single, (well they spelled it Coolie, but you get it)...and he loved this song as well. Every time this video came on, he would rap the words while I sat there with a feeling I couldn't begin to explain hearing this great music. From the moment I heard the beat, I was in a good mood and paid attention like it was a movie. The end of the video is legendary, and made me believe that they were REALLY the greatest rappers breathing off lyrics and visuals.

To this day, I still love this song and I think of my brother when I hear it. Truly timeless joint here, and I'm thankful it was made.
