Everyone Should be Watching Snowfall on FX

The summer TV lineup has just started to turn up, with shows like Power, Survivor's Remorse, and Game Of Thrones coming back on soon. I want to discuss a show everyone should add to their DVR’s, Snowfall on FX. Produced by John Singleton, Snowfall is set in Los Angeles circa 1983, and it introduces us to the genesis & impact of the crack epidemic. Just by watching the pilot episode, Snowfall is going to have us on the edge our seats.

The series revolves around how Black, whites, Mexicans, etc. dealt with selling drugs on the streets of Los Angeles. The first antagonist we come to know look is 19-year-old Black kid named Franklin Saint, who has already been selling drugs but when he gets involved with an Israeli drug lord, his life starts to change.

I like Franklin's character, he's not all that smart because he makes shaky decisions, and gets in over his head with heavy drug lords, but he has no fear & seems to know like the life he’s leading.

I have a feeling that jealousy & envy will come of Franklin’s cousin Leon later on in the season. I think the more money Franklin makes, the more Leon will be tempted to rob him or kill him, or Leon gets himself killed; he’s (Leon) already the wildcard of the show, so keep an eye on him throughout the season.

We also get to see stories of a struggling Mexican luchador, a Mexican crime boss and, his daughter; from the looks of things there's a shady CIA operative in play. As the season plays out I can guarantee you all the stories will start to connect and become super-intense.

Snowfall is going to have a fear and respect aspect, so far Franklin has the respect of two drug lords, but this is only the beginning. Keep in mind, this is a show about how the crack era started, so get ready for the Ronald Reagan phase, the killing, the riots and the prohibition really soon.

After watching the pilot episode, I think Snowfall is going to be amazing, and John Singleton and FX have done an incredible job; this show is refreshing to see on TV. Initially, I thought the content that’s going to be given to us on this show would have been better served on HBO but FX is perfect, and I can't wait to see an episode directed by John himself. I already see Snowfall as one of the best shows of the summer, and as it progresses it will be one of the best shows of the year.

Do not miss out on Snowfall on FX every Wednesday night at 10pm.
