What's Beef? Vol. 1: Beanie Sigel vs. Jadakiss

What's Beef? Vol. 1: Beanie Sigel vs. Jadakiss

Fifteen years ago, Hip-Hop was at an all time high and getting bigger and bigger.  Ruff Ryders, Bad Boy and Rocafella had a tight grip on the game with their superstar artists.  The year 2001 brought about some classic albums including Broken SilenceThe Blueprint and Stillmatic but it was also the beginning of a new beef, one that none of us saw coming but we couldn't ignore, and that was the classic Beans vs. Jada battle.   The first shot according to Jada was on Beanie Sigel 2nd album, The Reason.  On the single "Mack Bitch," Beans says "You bout, four-thirty cheap in wheels small Benz, look at your small rims, small wheel, small grill Big Beans, sittin in Bentley my heart peels" at the time Jadakiss' first car was a 430 AMG Benz so Jada took that as a shot and the historic battle ensued.

2001 was a crazy year, which included the Jay Z and Nas beef and Rocafella vs. Ruff Ryders that spawned Jada and Beans.  This was a top 5 Hip-Hop battle and it elevated both Jadakiss a veteran and Beans a relative new comer.  After the pseudo shot to Jada, Beans took the direct path on DJ Envy-hosted Empire Strikes Back mixtape with his Kiss The Game Goodbye freestyle which started with "F--- the speculation, talk's over/ N---a dig this, I'm about to son 'Kiss [Sunkist] like a soda." but Jada hit back with his own freestyle "N---as can't stand you, Sigel/ Your flow is mine anyway so don't bite the hand that feed you,".. The battle continued at Powerhouse in Philly when both Beans and Jada traded bars at each other, The was a true battle which never led to violence, everything was kept on wax and respectable.

Let us take you back to 2001 when these two when at it, peep the audio timeline here
