Wally's Words: Reluctant Heart - a poem

I’m running and I can see the lights flashing

But I don’t care

In my mind the bright lights won’t hurt me

If I don’t stare

So I continue

Down a path of destruction

Ignoring all signs

Any kind of instruction

Or criticism

Advice to correct my course

Words of wisdom

Are generally victims to neglect?

I’m lost

But weirdly I’m perfectly fine with that

Time, if I could I probably wouldn’t

Rewind it back

And stop my self from such a slippery slope

Spiraling out of control

Because now I’m in lost in the hope

That not only am I lost

But I’ve lost all hope

That finding myself without you

Will ever be an option

So into the light I run

Say, "When"

Say, "When"
