Wally's Words: Abandon - a poem

Wally's Words: Abandon - a poem

Don’t know if I’m wrong

If you right

But something’s definitely off’d

You used to look at me for love

But lately you seem lost

Confused

Baffled

Fed up even

You got one foot out the door

I’m tryna dead those reasons

You want to leave

Make you stay

But if you gone what can I do

The things we say

So cliché

But what’s me without you?

Hmmmmmm

M, E, Y, O, U

Damn there is no US

There’s logic in the spelling

The latter I won’t trust

Cuz love defies all rules

Physics

Engagement

War

That’s why it’s so hard to shake this mental enslavement

For what it’s worth

We’ve hit the ground before

Got up

Dust it off

Went pound for pound some more

So why now give in

Give up

Abandon

We started off on a high

I’m not ready for a landing

We can bounce back together

Go head put your hand in

Who knew happiness

Would be so demanding

But imma keep on trying

Even if I’m talking by myself

Life is a long road

You shouldn’t have to walk it by yourself
