Cruising The Hudson: Fish Bar @ North River Landing - NYC
Summer time is here and it's time for you to set sail! Now I know what you're thinking you don't have access to a boat but you're in luck, Fish Bar at North River Landing has just set sail and we're giving you a first look at how you can come aboard. Fish Bar is a new 3-story seafood lounge and rooftop joining North River Lobster Company at North River Landing, New York's newest new dining and entertainment destination at Pier 81.
Taking launch in May I had the privilege to set sail on July 19th with great company, wonderful eats, and great cocktails. Loaded with top shelf spirits, amazing views of the Hudson, and even a trip around Lady Liberty herself, you won't run out of things to see or drink. Not to mention the sailings are absolutely free so you don't have to worry about pricey boat fees if you want to experience an evening on the water without breaking your pockets. With the option of setting sail at either 6:30 or 9:15 pm for an hour and a half, you can either enjoy a lovely sunset or an evening adorned with the bright lights of NYC. Cocktails are reasonably priced at an average of $16 per drink or if you want to, you can bring your own bottle aboard for a $30 bottle-opening fee. Whether you're planning a romantic evening with that special someone, kicking it with a few old friends, or trying to impress a few clients, Fish Bar at North River Landing has something for everyone. The staff is amazing, friendly and attentive, so you won't have any problems finding delicious pairings or locking down a new favorite cocktail. My personal favorite was the Ibiza Sunrise, which is a blend of Grey Goose Vodka, Orange, Cranberry and Passion Fruit. I also highly recommend the Frittura Di Calamari Arrabiata (fried squid, spicy marinara) or the Meat & Cheese Platter for starters. For the vegan in you, the Mezze is a great choice as well. While I didn't get a chance to sample the dinner menu, if the appetizers are any indication of what's to come I can almost guarantee that you won't be disappointed. Reservations are only needed if you plan on having dinner on the second deck so feel free to walk on board for bites and drinks in the lounge or rooftop.
With three floors, even a full boat including crew didn't feel congested or overwhelming. It was such an amazing time even after the first go around we decided to hang back and go around one more time! Trust me Fish Bar at North River Landing will not disappoint. So what are you waiting for, grab a few friends head down to Pier 81 and set sail!
