Fuck The Naysayers: Find Your Passion
This is for anyone that is having trouble finding their passion or know what their passion/dreams are, but are too afraid to go and pursue them. I used to have that same problem and the number one thing for me was this fear. Not a fear of failing because that’ll never really hurt you, just a lesson on how to do it better for your many chances that you get to do it right. My number one fear when wanting to pursue my passion(s) full time was the feeling of leaving those behind that didn’t quite understand “it” or weren’t on the same level of focus as I. What is this “it” I’m referring to? It’s your drive, dedication, ambition, etc. With those comes growth and not everyone will grow with you. When you start to pursue your passion you’ll know those who will be around and those who won’t and that’s such a scary feeling especially when you’re close with some of these people. You dream big and see yourself in a position that you may not even be in yet, but you know what it takes to get there and know exactly what it is you have to do.
For years I thought I would leave some family members and close friends (which are one in the same because I consider all close friends family) behind so I didn’t dedicate the time I needed to get where I wanted. I’ve always been on my shit now that I look back at it, but I was never consistent in what I did, until now. In a way I held back what I always knew I was capable of for others and that is not the way you want to live. If you have a passion/dream then pursue the fuck out of it. Don’t let anyone stop you or feel obligated to stop doing what you’re meant to out of fear because you have YOUR life and that’s all that really matters because no one will live this shit for you, but YOU. Fuck the naysayers and try your best to ignore the hate they throw at you trying to make you feel less of a person because people like that are only doing that as a projection of them possibly being too afraid to go and do their own thing.
I’ve always heard you can do whatever you want in life and thought it was bullshit. Now at the age of 24 I’ve come to find out that it’s 100% true. I found more than one thing I’m actually passionate about and I have no intentions on stopping now. No matter what anyone says or does they won’t be able to stop me. My drive and dedication are at a level to where you’ll have to kill me to get me to stop doing all that I love doing. Between photography, cinematography, graphic design, and now writing (hence this piece I’m typing up right now) no one can say or do a damn thing that’ll throw me off track. I am nowhere close to where I want to be, but listening to my third eye (basically listening to my own mind) has taken me farther than where I was at this time last year and it can only go up from here.
If you ever come in contact with someone who has something negative to say, I wouldn’t blame you for checking him or her, but turn that negative energy they’re trying to throw at you into positivity. Naysayers will always be around and that should never take you off course to what you were meant to do. In the words of the great Bernie Mac, “fuck em’!”
So I say this again, go andfind your passion and don’t worry about anything someone has to say if they are spewing negativity. If you have a dream, please pursue that shit because you owe it to yourself to and get all you ever want in life. Possibilities of where it may take you are endless and if you feel that nobody cares about what it is you do, fuck em, do that shit anyway! We only got one life so live this shit up to your fullest.
One example of someone who has pursued his or her craft and never given up is Future. People always say all he talks about are drugs, sex, and women (like many other rappers). That may be true, but he represents everything we all should be, passionate, ambitious, self-driven, and self motivated. Don’t be scared to show off anything you have because you think it might suck. To some it won’t and to some it will, but you aren’t here for them. Everyone has an opinion, but the only real opinion that matters is yours.
