Making Future Improvements for Power
Believe it or not, the hit series Power on Starz is a really good show, produced by Courtney Kemp and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, it's also one of the most watched shows of the summer along with HBO's Game Of Thrones and the other Starz hit series produced by LeBron James, Survivor's Remorse. Now, Power does have its issues but it isn't anything too flagrant, if it such a bad show like people claim it is, the ratings wouldn't have tripled from season 2 to season 3, and that's not really to use the whole ratings argument but people are tuning into this show for a reason, even if 50 does have some wild but genius marketing strategies. After the very first episode of season 3, Power generated so many ratings that night news broke out the next morning that a season 4 & 5 would get the green light, 50 did say he wanted the show to end at 7 seasons then potentially turn it into a feature film, that's kind of interesting because if season 4 brings in more ratings than season 3 did, we're going to get that renewal news of season 6 and 7 in development, or we'll just get season 6 news while they'll turn season 7 into the full length movie. I'm not going to get into the bad things about the show cause yes there is some but there's more good things about the show, what I'm going to do is give little ideas of what Power can do to improve as a TV show and really be one of the best shows to come on television when it's said and done, season 2 was arguably the best season and it ended great, season 3 started off good but it kind of fell flat, Kanan, Tariq, Jukebox and Holly dying kept that season going.
Future improvements for Power:
• Keep the Sunday night schedule - Moving Power to Sunday night was one of the best moves it could have made, I mean what else are you doing Sunday nights at 9pm in the summer, perfect time slot.
• More intense/gritty story - Some of the writing is kind of simple but we know what the show is going to bring to us already, put me in the Power writer's room and let me add something to it lol don't change nothing about the show, just add more, keep the same formula, premise, everything, but I would like to see growth, more action sequences, fights, montages, better decisions and maybe calm it down on the sex scenes just a little, we done seen enough of Angela being a bozo hoe, lock her up or off her.
• Character development - Speaking of Angela, she might have to go, she can go meet Greg Knox in the afterlife, she been making dumb decisions since season 2. Now, say what you want but Kanan has to stay on this show as much as he can survive, that's not even 50 acting, that's him being him lol Kanan killing his own son Shawn was one of the darkest scenes on the show, we need to see him more in action, I also like to see a deeper backstory of Ghost & Kanan to see exactly why Kanan hates him, Kanan is a lunatic and it would be cool to see him try to beat Ghost as his own game as far as owning a club but still be the same ruthless Kanan, I got a feeling Kanan and Jukebox will have disagreements about the kidnapping of Ghost's son, Jukebox wants to kill him but Kanan doesn't now, she doesn't care if Kanan is her cousin, she will kill him too. We also need more Jukebox in action, I also want to see Dre actually put in some work of own, we got a preview of that in season 3, but he just might take over Ghost by running the club since he's locked up, and Tariq, I don't know, he's just stupid but Kanan might turn him into the son he thought Shawn would be, and by the way, WHERE IS KEISHA?
• Casting - Season 4 of Power has added some serious names to this show, we will now see Larenz Tate, Charley Murphy and Sung Kang, adding new names to the cast will make things more interesting and twist the story around, so far this is the best casting by the addition of these actors so far, if Power keeps this up season 5 & 6 and the movie, it could be something great and we won't have to be bothered with the same original cast.
This is indeed a Big Rich Town; Power season 4 will be back this summer.
