Ghetto Lenny: SAINt JHN - Our Next Rockstar
"You deserve silk in your life." – SAINt JHN
Music is such a personal thing for me because it evokes so many different emotions, and I know it will be there for me no matter how I'm feeling. I tend to stay away from writing about music for this very reason; however, there are artists & projects that I need to speak on.
SAINt JHNis a mothafuckin ROCKSTAR in the making, and everybody should take notice of his talent. I've never fully understood how to compute the "it" factor, but I know it when I see it & SAINt JHN is "it."
I randomly came across SAINt JHN's music while browsing Tidal, and I honestly don't know what made me press play, but it's been one of my best decisions of 2018. Collection One, in my opinion, is the best album/mixtape to drop in 2018, any genre. The crazy shit is that I'm not usually a fan of music that doesn't make me think, but Collection One is an escape that I wholeheartedly appreciate. Ghetto Lenny can rap, sing, and most importantly, he enjoys himself while doing it, and that's what really captures my attention about SAINt JHN, he's reminding me that talent isn't a burden & I'm allowed to have fun while taking my craft seriously.
While most artists portray a character, SAINt JHN's authenticity shines thru on his records, especially on my 2 favorite tracks, "N***a Sh*t (Swoosh)" & "I Heard You Got Too Litt Last Night." If you aren't following Ghetto Lenny on Instagram, you should be because that's where you'll be able to see his music isn't some contrived bullshit, he REALLY is a fuckin rockstar!
In a world where popularity weights more than talent, SAINt JHN is the perfect mix of talent, charisma, and silk fabrics that will make him our next rockstar. My only purpose in writing this is to prose is to shine a light on a talented young man who has the work ethic to match his incredible potential. There is no doubt in my mind that SAINt JHN will be here to stay for years to come, whether it's with his incredible music or if he decides to jump into acting, he is our next ROCKSTAR, and I hope his eventual superstardom & success never feels like a burden for him, only fun.
