Hottest TV Shows of Summer '17

Hottest TV Shows of Summer '17

Summertime is so underrated where TV shows are concerned; the lineup is crazy and there's a show for everyone. Understanding it's very difficult to keep up with numerous shows while everyone is typically on vacation mode but certain time slots make it very convenient for all.

Primetime television is the best television; between Saturday & Sunday, the weekends have some of the best shows on TV, regardless of season. When you're not going out, and just feel like staying inside, you’ll have a chance to catch up on your favorite show(s) on-demand or a get introduced to something new. The 2017 summer line-up is very good, and proves there could be a future in television shows broadcasting on networks again, especially considering Netflix has had the TV show category on lock. I'm going to give you a brief rundown of the hottest shows of the summer so far that you should be watching, if you haven't.

I have to start off with Power, which is of course executive produced & co-stars 50 Cent. Power is a combination of crime, drama and a little bit of thriller all in one. Starring Omari Hardwick as the protagonist James "Ghost" St. Patrick, an ex drug dealer turned nightclub owner whose life turns upside down as he tried to get back into the drug business. With Ghost, everything is on the line including loyalty, family, old friends and enemies from the past. With season 4 currently running on Starz, Power is getting better & better. Not to mention their casting is second to none, with new additions such as Fast and Furious Sung Kang and Larenz Tate, Power is becoming one of the strongest shows on primetime television. You can catch Power at the perfect time slot on Sunday nights at 9 PM on Starz. Or if you want to catch the new episodes early, download the Starz app, and select cable/streaming providers will have the show on-demand exactly at midnight almost a full day before the airdate.

While we're discussing Starz, Survivor's Remorse is another Black drama/comedy show to watch. Executive produced by LeBron James, the show is focuses on the off-court life of an NBA player, and his dealings with family drama, shady agents, the light & dark side of the spots industry. Approaching its 4th season this August, you can catch Survivor's Remorse right after Power at 10 PM on Starz.

Season 7 of Game Of Thrones returned on July 15th, and things are already getting interesting. Thrones has been delivering superior quality since 2011, and it's not going to stop until the last season which is rumored to be in 2 years. Spin-offs of the mythology series are planned for the future but until…then you can catch the Night King and others cause havoc Sunday night's on HBO or streaming on the HBO GO/HBO Now app.
