I DON'T Wanna Talk About The Bulls Vol. 2 by @Mariannoo
First of all, Keith Bogans and Carlos Boozer SMFH......Lord.
Anyway......*deep sigh*......I told you the last time I didn't wanna talk about the Bulls, and you kept talking to me about the Bulls....so, OK....FINE.
You miss Thibs? like, MISS him? What exactly do you miss? I'll tell you..
You miss winning 60 games and being one series away from the NBA Finals, but coming up short. You miss being one hit away like Bleek. You miss being the best team in the league that came up short. You miss dressed up mediocrity. Don't confuse it, I love what Thibs was able to do but there's a deeper issue.
Sure, Thibs had us playing hard and winning on determination mixed with defense. He also had players building scaffolds during TV timeouts and spending their offdays putting shingles on his roof. He had players giving 59 minutes in a 48 minute game with no overtime, the other 11 were spent making their jerseys from scratch and if they weren't done they couldn't play.
While blaming Hoiberg is the flavor of this season and it seems to be sweet for some, it's not real. I watched Hoiberg figure out what sets worked during the season and play them, it's on them to produce. Hoiberg was tasked with surpassing what Thibs had done, but with a depleted roster due to injury that already wasn't talented enough to win the East, let alone the big show. Noah has been an absolute shell of himself due to injuries. When Dunleavy isn't doubling as Michael Myers he's dealing with back injuries. The list goes on.
If you were paying attention, you would've saw this coming back in 2011 aka our year. Derrick Rose was league MVP, the "Bench Mob" looked unstoppable....and we fell short. GarPax basically said since we looked good enough, let's bring the gang back and try it again. Rinse, repeat, until the players are run down...the rest of the league gets better...and we stay on this treadmill.
Being "good enough" for a playoff spot in the NBA is worse than being complete trash because you'll never be in a position to rebuild, especially with a front office as stubborn as this. Ironically, THAT'S the reason Thibs isn't here anymore.
Don't miss Thibs, open your eyes and understand NO coach will win here under this management that refuses to go a different direction to make us better.
Until then? I. Don't. Wanna. Talk. About. The. Bulls.
