The Frustration of a Sports Fan by @MykeDSOM
Sports, its one of the best pieces of entertainment we get to witness in life, whether its basketball, football, boxing, baseball etc. But sometimes this shit can get stressful and frustrating, from dealing with your team losing to people with dumb and pointless debates.
Coming from Ohio people just expect to be a Browns and/or Indians fan, nope it don't work that way, I can care less about baseball and my team in the NFL is the Raiders but NBA is where its at. Now I guess the question from the other people is "are you really a Cavs fan?", yes and I'll get to that soon, Allen Iverson is one of my favorite players of all time along with Michael Jordan, so seeing them 2 play whenever the Sixers and Wizards (and looking back, MJ was not "washed" in my eyes by the way) came to the GUND ARENA at that time was an experience as a kid with the family. I don't care, seeing Jordan live was really the shit, he might've not been Bulls Jordan but he was still knocking down jumpers constantly like it was 96, and to top it off he hit the game winning buzzer beater in the same spot he did against Cleveland in the playoffs, the Gund was on fire I've never seen fans of the losing team cheer for Jordan for hitting the game winner on em, but that's why he's the GOAT.
Coming up watching CLE was also wack at times man, the rosters was just plain shitty until LeBron got drafted, I mean let's be real here, the Cavs probably had the wackest eras in basketball, it was teams with a washed up Shawn Kemp, Eric Snow, Tyrone Hill, Chucky Brown, Bimbo Coles, Ira Newble, Larry Hughes, Antawn Jamison, Shaw who was running on E, man I can go on and on, and some of these players were on Bron's team, that's who this organization put him with smh. The 2 most players I can't leave out is Ricky Davis & Darius Miles, at least they brought some excitement to the game. What I really hated about this team was they kept making fucking excuses to get good players, in 2007 the Cavs got swept in the finals, 2008 lost in 7 games to Boston in a playoff series, 2009 the Orlando Magic with the help of Dwight Howard and their steroid up 3 point shooters took us out, and in 2010 the Celtics was just too much, Bron was fed up, took his jersey off with authority on live TV and on July 8 2010, The Decision shook up the basketball world. But when you got the chance to get players like Iverson, Kidd, Amare and others but you get Terrence Kindsey, Anthony Parker, and Antawn Jamison you gotta bail out.
When Bron left to Miami I'm not gonna front like I wasn't a fan, hell yeah I supported dude, why wouldn't I, of course people hit you with the jive ass "how you a Cavs fan but a bandwagon Heat fan"?, and this was from the same people that would've rocked that Bulls #24 jersey if that Kobe trade pulled through in 07, and everyone else who was just against LBJ in the playoffs. I enjoy the bandwagon talk now cause its interesting and people are doing it now without even admitting or being plain hypocrites, you scope out a GSW fan today and they won't know how Baron Davis had a game breaker against the Mavericks without YouTube, but that's how the game goes so you really can't be mad at that. When Bron left for Miami I never seem so many low profiled racists in my life, they burned that man's jersey on live TV, calling him so many names, and even Dan Gilbert wrote that damn letter, that letter was so disgusting Gilbert was 2 commas away from calling Bron a nigger people wouldn't of noticed if it was there, sad shit, and I see why Bron annihilated the Cavs every matchup and forced Gilbert to leave games early and it was also fun making fun of the fans who fed into that "we'll win before him" bullshit, that 25 game losing streak was glorious to see too. I don't care if he took the letter down and made peace, I still don't like Gilbert at all, and hope Bron forces him out of a $300+ million max contract in 2017 when the CBA rises. PAY UP.
We gonna need a 30 for 30 on this shit or a autobiography which we probably will, when Bron came back to Cleveland he knows its about home, most of the fans who's back on his hairline after burning his jersey, and most importantly winning a ring for the city who's in a 50+ year drought. Right now, David Griffin and Bron is co-GMs of the Cavs, they just gotta stop the fucking Warriors, they got the team but they gotta play with heart and stop being soft. I just want the state of Ohio to get a title and Bron is the last hope. What's frustrating is I want to see CLE have fun on the court again, sports outlets/media/fans with their hot takes is also bullshit, even the Cavs announcers Austin Carr and Fred McCloud catching heat and they been doing this since 2005 but people saying they wack now? Where was this from 2010-2014? its funny but it's not good watching a game and see Bron become Old Man Logan yelling at the team after every mistake, I know you gotta be the leader and get in ya team's ass and that's fine but there's no other way I guess, we seen this his last year in Miami with the Chalmers situation, its a lot of shit, even from trades and free agent signings. In my opinion I still feel like Bron is still the best player in today's game, the way he carried that Cleveland team in the finals without Irving and Love was crazy, they wasn't even suppose to win 2 games, averaging 40-10-12 for 6 games straight is unreal, nobody else would've did that, and in the past 1-2 years back with CLE the cavs are 3-11 when he's not playing, as talented as that team is its a shame they got that record. As of now thanks to the Warriors, LBJ is considered "irrelevant" by fans and media in the sports world, and this is exactly why he should go back to the 2011 "villain" mentality and hopefully steal the title this summer, we'll see.
