EXCLUSIVE Short Film - pine: The Visual Storybook
Words by Shooter Jones: This visual storybook starts off with author, Cole Frayer getting messages from his answering machine from various people. A few of these messages in particular were one of Cole's closest friends congratulating him and saying he's there for him if he ever needs anything as any true friend would say. Other messages are from other peers I’m guessing wanting to hang out and by his actions behind the messages, he’s not feeling it as he’s more focused on his work. The last of the messages are coming from a woman he has dealt with in the past and it’s apparent that she just cannot let go.
The music score behind this video is great. Very calm and relaxing music that’ll still keep you interested. Following the music is poetry like narrative coming from the man himself. The poems are both motivational and heartfelt. Along with that is Cole going through his creative process in making the book come to life. I enjoyed seeing this the most because not many people realize what it takes to write a book and get it published.
The scenes are from all different angles, but are still shots making this feel very personal for the viewer. The final scene I won’t disclose, it’s something you’ll just have to see for yourself. All in all, the video is very inspiring, especially for anyone who plans on writing a book someday. Hell, even if you’ve written a book before, but haven’t put one out in years this will make you want to. I cannot wait to read the physical copy of pine, which won’t be long considering its release this week on September 22nd. I anticipate great and intriguing story telling from the author, Cole Frayer and if you’ve taken your time out to read this I feel like you are too. If you haven’t thought about getting your hands on this, I suggest that you do, soon. I guarantee it will be one of the best book purchases you’ve made in a while.
